Advent 2023: Monday, December 11

December 16, 2023

“An angel of the Lord said to the shepherds, ‘And you will recognize him (the Savior) by this sign: you will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.’ Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, ‘glory to God and saying,” glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased”’” (Luke 2:12-14)

I can’t even imagine what those shepherds witnessed that evening. They were told that the Savior, the Messiah, the Lord had been born that day and how to recognize him. Then suddenly, they saw the armies of heaven praising God!

Can you even fathom what the armies of heaven must have looked like and what they sounded like when they were praising God?

What an awesome God we praise and worship. What an awesome God who loves us.

So, as we gather this Christmas, let’s try to visualize the armies of heaven, here on earth, singing, “glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those whom God is pleased.”

Let’s humble ourselves at what God has done for us and pray that he is pleased with our walk with him. Glory to God!
