Advent 2021: Tuesday, December 7

December 8, 2021

Nelson Mandela completely changed South Africa. After 27 years in prison on Robben Island, he focused on forgiveness and healing of his country’s divisions. He said, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we lived; it is the difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

As we celebrate the Advent season, we think of the life lived by our Savior who gave His life that we might know joyous hope in a lost and dark world. This is of ultimate significance. Jesus has called each of us to be light and salt by our lives. I would like for each of us to read and dwell for a few minutes on Ephesians 3:14-20, and I Corinthians 13 as we reflect on Christ’s life, our response to Him, and to what ultimately counts in a life well lived.
