Advent 2023: Wednesday, December 6

December 6, 2023

Something’s happening!

Someone’s coming!

ADVENT: it’s about Jesus coming.

What should we do?  What has God called us too?

As God’s children, disciples of Jesus, we need to consider seriously the coming of Jesus, both as a baby 2,000 years ago and the next time He comes. Advent helps us in this journey. There is the traditional Advent Calendar. This is simply a visual countdown to Christmas. It is a sign, directing us, each day, towards Christmas. Don’t miss the signs.

Some utilize an Advent wreath to hold the 4 candles. This circle is a symbolism of everlasting life, which is our hope and confidence in Jesus. Then the 4 Sundays of Advent we will light the 4 candles, love, joy, peace, and hope.

Love has been called the Angel’s Candle.

Joy has been called the Shepherd’s candle.

Peace has been called the Bethlehem candle.

Hope is sometimes called the Prophet’s candle.

As a sandal and jeans Christian, I too often overlook the important symbolisms that should point us to Jesus. REMEMBER. LOOK. APPRECIATE.

Hope, peace, joy and love be with you.
