I can’t help pondering during this time of Lent and the build-up to Easter…. what uncertainty the early believers must have endured during those dark hours after Jesus was crucified for our sins…. how helpless they must have felt, before he rose again and revealed himself. Today, we as Christians know the glorious ending to the story, but the early followers of Jesus, those who actually lived and walked with him, faced true uncertainty.
As we face CV-19 and our own uncertain future during these early containment days, remember we have Jesus to rely on. Have we not been told we will face uncertainty in this life?
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33).
I am grateful and find peace that we do know the outcome: we know Jesus defeated sin, we know he rose from the grave, we know he lives today.
