“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” (Isa 7:17).

 As a child growing up in Colorado, the anticipation of Christmas and the excitement it brings, was generally accompanied by snow… this paradigm remained as I grew older, usually with the changeover of summer toys for winter…

However, this year has been quite different. I have found it difficult to get into the spirit of the season, especially as I look outside and see a beautiful summer-like day and contemplate if I should head out for a bike ride.

This lack of excitement has fashioned an internal conflict within me. What exactly am I looking for this Christmas season; am I focused on worldly, self-gratification or on “our Savior, which is Christ the Lord?”
