One of my earliest memories is my actual “conversion.” At four years old I was sitting listening to a radio station with my mother at the kitchen table. Over the air was a woman’s testimony of her finding peace in Jesus. As I was listening this strong desire came over me to want that peace she had. I had a good home, loving parents, what did I lack?
At four! What did I know? But, at four, I knew that I didn’t have what she had. I longed for the peace only God could provide.
That peace has stood strong though out my life. It’s the thing that has always reassured me that God is good for his promises. Many trials and setbacks later, He is still providing that peace.
Isn’t that what we celebrate during Christmas? Peace on Earth! His coming to bring us that reassurance that he is in control, he is not going to leave us.
Don’t lose heart, he is coming again. For you. Merry Christmas!
